Started in 2009 by the Portland Area Theatre Alliance (the service organization assisting Portland theater artists and organizations), The Fertile Ground Festival of New Work is an 11-day long arts festival held every January in Portland, Oregon. With a myriad of art installations, performers and theater companies getting involved, a myriad of artistic experiences await those wanting to explore what this great city has to offer. From large, long-running institutions to the very tiny upstart, The Fertile Ground Festival offers a wide-ranging tapestry of choices to the lucky attendee. This year's Fertile Ground festival kicks off today, January 19, and runs until January 30. Take advantage of this amazing collective of artistic and performance-based talent and shake off your winter slumber!
